IT has been a buzz word and ear lifting word for every common person on the earth. I can share some of the funny moments that I came across during my IT journey.
I was completing one of certifications on hardware assembly in 2003-2004 at computer institute. There was a batch of people taking knowledge on "computer basics". Teacher was listing down the names of computer parts on the whiteboard and there a student reads "mouse" loudly as soon as teacher writes it on the board. 3 out of 6 people's batch shout and stand immediately as soon as a student reads "mouse" loudly.
After settling down nearly 10 minutes of struggle, student asked "Why do you call this small electronic part as mouse?" Teacher said,"Well, If you see its body and long tail it resembles to rat that's why very intelligent researcher named it after mouse".
Now a days I see wireless mouse that does not have a tail :)
In fact mouse is missing from laptops, has these electronic devices made "mouse" as an endangered species like "tiger" ? Just kidding here.
There was one more instance when a student was dragging a mouse and it reached to the corner of the table.
After that there was no space left on the table where he could drag the mouse. Looking at the screen, there was still some more distance to be covered where the click was suppose to be done but there was no space left on the table where he could drag the mouse. Student suddenly got up from his chair and shouted at teacher, "Sir, there is no space left on the table. I can see table bigger than monitor screen but this size table is not enough for our computer. I think, we should order big size tables because I think this is very high end computer in our lab. Can you please come here and see?"
Teacher came to the person's desk and gave a person mouse pad. And said, you can make use of this mouse pad again and again. Start from one corner of the pad and come back again to the same square.
Student got confused as his earlier assumption was table is smaller than computer and now it was computer smaller than 6 inches mouse pad.
